  • Colonel Sean C. Williams is a 1995 graduate of the United States Military Academy, earning a Bachelors of Science with a focus on Life Sciences. He holds Masters Degrees from Kansas State University in Security Studies (2007), United States Army Command and General Staff College in Theater Operations (2007) and Strategic Operations (2015), and Webster University in Business Administration (2006).

    COL Williams’ first assignments were in Germany as an Armor lieutenant, where he served as a tank, mechanized infantry, and scout platoon leader, with time deployed to Bosnia during Operation JOINT ENDEAVOR. He later served as the Aide-de-Camp to the Commanding General, Special Operations Command Europe in Stuttgart, Germany and participated in Operation NOBLE ANVIL. Following completion of Special Forces training, COL Williams was assigned to the 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne) at Fort Carson, Colorado. Following command of two Special Forces Operational Detachments—Alpha, the Group Headquarters Company, and a Special Forces Company, he served as both Battalion and Group level Operations Officer and Group Executive Officer. During this time, he deployed for five rotations in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM with the Combined Joint Special Operations Task Force—Arabian Peninsula. He left 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne) to command the Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne to lead advisor teams with the Afghan Uniformed Police throughout Kunar Province in Operation ENDURING FREEDOM. He later served as the Deputy Executive Officer to the 38th Chief of Staff of the United States Army, and most recently completed the Senior Service College through the Advanced Strategic Leadership Studies Program at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.

    COL Williams has been married to his wife Erin for nineteen years. They have two children: Brady (8), and Maggie (5).

    The Greater Fairbanks Chamber of Commerce's number 2 priority in 2018 is to support the Stand for Alaska coalition, which will work to inform fellow Alaskans of the real dangers of the ballot initiative called Stand for Salmon, and the creation of a job-killing, community damaging regulation that would hurt the state’s ability to develop many of its natural resources. Alaska has a robust permitting process already in place.  

    This ballot initiative will appear on the November 6th ballot during the general election.
